I guess I got a little blanket happy tonight. Just when I think I’ve made the cutest one ever, I finish another and change my mind.

Just about as cute as can be. I used the squares around the monkeys to make this blanket sort of quilted. It is so soft that now I want one sized for me.

I told you it transformed. There are snaps (tougher for little fingers to undo mid-meal) and when done, voilà, unsnap, shake, and all clean! Ok, so maybe it will need a wipe too, but there are no corners and crevices to store gross remnants for some undetermined length of time. This beauty gets tested tomorrow by the messiest eater I can find!

The first attempt at a laminated cotton bib is here. Working at a childcare center, I’ve come to appreciate the laminated or oilcloth bibs that wipe clean rather than needing washing after each use (especially since I do the laundry for the whole center and the kids eat three times while with us). But wait…you ask, where is the pocket to catch the food? Well, it is a transformer bib. You’ll see!

For those of you wondering when I would figure out that the tote straps needed to be webbing with the same fabric over, the answer is tonight January 12. I used MM laminated cotton so it is wipe-able and I made it a bit larger with my step sister in mind (she has four boys). I take it to my marketing committee (or co-workers) tomorrow to see if they think it’s a) worth spending money for and b) in need of an interior pocket.

So I started making these taggies for the kids at my childcare center (the babies and toddlers at least) and I’m having fun. New product? New way to use all of my super fun ribbon? Methinks so.

BizBaz cometh. Bartlebaby selleth. Kara moveth about as to prevent the spread and sprawl of crafter butt, a truly perilous malady that runneth rampant in these parts.

At my first craft show in Vermont. The Winooski PTO is hosting it’s annual craft bazaar and there are over 120 crafters. I’m here with my aunt and her hand-knitted and sewn hats and scarves. Stop by from 9 - 4 at the Winooski Educational Center.
2 months ago • 0 notesWe will be part of a craft show on May 16th at Clara Byrd Baker Elementary School in Williamsburg to help raise money for the CBB Relay for Life Team. Come out and support a great cause and see some great people and artists there as well.

We are set up at the LESC (Langley Enlisted Spouses Club) and ready for day two. We wound rope lights through the shelves and you can see the tops of our new water bottles sitting there in their gloriousness. I’m not sure we will ever get the lights untangled, but it is worth it.
If you’re in Williamsburg, we have another show tomorrow at the Norge Dental Center. Live music and fun for all. 1- 5 pm. Let’s hope for good weather - it is suppsed to be an outdoor show! (if it rains, we will move inside the office, but I’ll be too distracted by the laughing gas to get anything done…)
